I have been drawing and painting since I was old enough to hold a pencil or a paintbrush. My mother tells me that I always hated colouring books because I wanted to “draw my own pictures”. Even as a small child I knew that I wanted to be an artist. I have never deviated from that path and feel so fortunate to be living my dream.
For two years I studied Fine Arts at Arizona State University. After taking some time off to travel and get married, I completed my degree at the University of Manitoba and graduated in 1986.
For over 20 years I’ve focused on raising my two beautiful daughters and have made art as time permitted. In between school carpools, dance classes and swimming lessons,I have managed to take on some fascinating art projects. My work is available at The Winnipeg Art Gallery and is also part of many private collections throughout Canada and the United States.
I will never regret staying home with my children. It has been a priviledge to raise them and is now a thrill to watch them make their way in this world. Now that they are grown and with the unwavering support of my wonderful husband, I can dedicate myself to my art on a full time basis.
I feel that I have barely scratched the surface and am so excited for the future. |
